Creating, AND applying the STENCIL
So you have got all your stuff together, now it’s time to get on with making a transfer. There are a a few alternative ways of going about this, depending on the time and cash you can spare.
For me, I get the image onto Adobe Photoshop and strip away all the shade and colour till I’ve only a basic outline left. From there i get my old college dot matrix printer and print the image onto the back of thethermal transfer paper, but without using the ink ribbon. This leaves me with a transfer of my outline imprinted on the transfer paper.
If you can afford a thermal transfer printer this implies a quicker more precise transfer. You may do it by tracing round the image with a sharp pencil or ballpoint pen, but that will take a large amount of time, and can also invite stencil blunders.
Some folk even like to copy the Stencil freehand straight onto the skin with a Skin scribe.
